WW BarBeQuers;       Amended to reflect all stainless steel BBQ, with a fifty dollar price increase, sorry!

This email is directed to all WW owners who will use or have concerns about the community BBQ installed at the rear of the meeting/laundry room.

The existing WW community BBQ needs replacing.

If you have comments, suggestions, or recommendations, this is the time to speak up.

Some context to aid the process.

In days prior to the pandemic, when people were more inclined to socialize in groups such as events arranged by the WW Social Cte, the BBQ would occasionally be used for larger groups, however, normally the BBQ is/was used to cook for 1 - 4 people, or in other words, smaller groups constitute the normal use case.

Joe Jost indicated that model Genesis II S-335 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill in Stainless Steel is available from Home Depot for $1,049. plus taxes and along with a Genesis II 4 Burner Premium Gas Grill Cover for another $89.99 plus taxes would provide our community with a good residential BBQ.

FYI, we investigated commercial/institutional quality BBQs with the thought that they would perform better, be more robust, last longer, and easier to use.  We learned that for double to triple the cost of the unit above,  that we could get more consistent heat with better temperature control and fewer 'hot spots', water trays beneath to catch falling grease/fats leading to fewer flare-ups, heavier gauge burners, etc, and so on.

Even with attractive discounts available to some WW owners with relatives 'in the business' we are still unable to even approach the price of the above residential unit, and economical thinking inclines us to pass on the commercial unit.

On a related topic, another suggestion arose  to incorporate a timer valve that 'remembers' to shut off the gas supply at a suitable interval after the cooking is completed, to prevent leaving the BBQ burning all night.

For those WW Owners that might use the new BBQ regularly or occasionally, or those that have an opinion in this regard, please share your thoughts, suggestions, and comments to enable your WW board of governors to proceed with a vote at the next regular board meeting scheduled for January 26.

Many thanks in advance.

Best regards
